The Academy was formed in 2001 to develop the Pastor and Lay leadership teams to build mission outposts, reaching the unchurched and growing disciples. We are based in Atlanta, Ga.
80% of the denominational churches in the U.S. are stagnant or in decline. We help church leaders plant a vision of renewal. Moving from membership to discipleship, from maintenance to mission, requires leadership skills not taught in seminary. Our faculty brings extensive real world leadership experience into the dialog.

The Academy brings teams of pastors and key lay leaders together to develop a vision, and to chart action steps to move off the plateau.
We are an ecumenical effort, extending a hand to all church leaders interested in discipleship and renewal. We schedule several workshops each year and offer customized workshops for individual congregations.
The Academy is a mission of the ELCA-Southeastern Synod Commision for Transforming Congregations in partnership with Apostles Lutheran Church. We also partner with the Changing Church Forum and the Joy Leadership Center.
