Ken Blanchard is a very well known business consultant and author. This slim volume is grounded in Scripture, and makes a compelling case that the model of Servant Leadership taught by Jesus is the most effective leadership style for both business and church. He does a great job of contrasting the servant versus the self-serving leader. He provides simple questions that get to the heart of your motivations as leader. This is a great read for lay leaders because Blanchard is highly respected in the secular community.

This book complements James Hunter's The Servant very well. The books come at Servant Leadership in different directions, and together present a clear picture. Like Hunter's work, I only wonder why it takes secular authors to help us see the leadership style of Jesus so clearly.
