Welcome to TransformingChurch.com

What you see before you is a vision unfolding. TRANSFORMINGCHURCH.COM. is the shell of what we hope will become a vibrant web presence connecting transformational leaders across the church into a virtual community. We are a gathering of those hearing a call for renewal. If you are feeling the call of the Holy Spirit to join in creating an ancient/modern church, please join our Ministry Network.
We have begun to fill the Resource Toolbox. There you will find books, websites, consultants and speakers, multimedia and original content collected from within our community.
Join the dialog by posting a comment when you see something interesting. For this community to have enduring value, we must start a compelling dialog with others involved in the Emerging Church movement.
The site is an outgrowth of collaboration among the Academy for Transformational Leadership, the Transformational Leader Gathering (TLG) and the ELCA-Southeastern Synod Commission for Transforming Congregations. The need for this community has been bubbling up for a couple of years. Last spring, a virtual team came together to make this vision a reality.
While our partners are all from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), transforming church is an ecumenical undertaking. We hope to broaden our collaboration to include others who share our vision of renewing the centrist church.
The Ministry Network is a database we are building of transformational ministry leaders. As we grow the network, we will create a searchable database that will allow leaders to find others who share a similar context. We hope to create both formal and informal networking opportunities through this database. It will take you about five minutes to sign up and help us build the community.
We will create Newsletter content reflecting the latest ideas that are resonating within the community, and hope each article will spark dialog and comments from you our readers. The Opportunities page will allow you to post staff openings at your church and reach transformational leaders within our network your offering. The Academy has moved its site into our community, and offers workshops and consultations to churches interested in moving off the plateau. The Leader Gathering (TLG) area will highlight their annual event January 24-27, 2005 in Orlando, and other happenings within that community. Soon, you will see a calendar listing upcoming events.
Let us know what you think. Without input from our visitors, this project will soon wither and die. We hope not. Dialog depends upon your interest. Feel free to suggest topics of interest that are not being explored yet.

Comments on this Entry:
This is a beautifully designed, "deep" site that I intend to recommend to the readership of "The Lutheran."
The main criteria we use to recommend sites are: a) is this accessible to both clergy and lay readers and b) is the site "sticky" enough to keep a user for more than ten minutes. I would argue that this site does both.
Especially notable are the "commenting" features, the clever navigation and design and animation that works on my Macintosh -- always a bonus! :)
Also, the glossary is especially helpful to someone to a first-timer to this concept who may not "speak the language." I'm new to this environment, and it was really helpful to me.
