Wired Jesus Podcast
If you haven't heard about "podcasting" yet, it is the free subscription delivery of mp3 audio show via the Internet to your computer, which you then can copy over to an mp3 player, like an Ipod (hence the term "podcasting". Only a year or so old, podcasting has grown from only a handful of programs from a year ago to over 4,000 today. Churches and the religious community are just beginning to catch on to this technology that is rapidly growing among emerging generations.
While many podcasters are doing inspirational talks, sermons, and Bible studies, Wired Jesus Podcast is trying to do something different. Called The Wired Wanderings of a Postmodern Pilgrim, I take my lead from what I read and find on blogs, ezines, and other podcasts and try and wrestle with spiritual issues from a postmodern perspective. So far I've tackled Extreme Makeover:Home Edition as a model of a discipling community, a tour of the emergent church site ginkworld, and an reflection of the Teri Schiavo dilemma as a carnival of death. About 15 minutes in length, it is a good intro to the potential of podcasting for transformational leaders.
