City on a Hill Film Productions
City on a Hill creates high quality short films to reach younger generations and the unchurched.
They support the work of local churches by producing powerful, professional-quality short films and video resources, specifically designed for use in a worship setting.
You can preview and purchase their videos on the site. Here's how they describe themselves.
City on a Hill Productions is called to serve God’s purposes through the gift of visual media.
God has called us to serve Him in these 3 ways…
1. Equipping Churches: Providing resources for churches to supplement the sermon and music with a third dimension.
2. Supporting Ministries: Many ministries need fundraising and awareness tools, we are here to provide a resource video that they could not otherwise afford.
3. Reaching Out to the Unchurched: We believe that media is a tool and weapon that can be used in the fight to win people's hearts to Christ. For far too long a generation of media savvy individuals hasn’t been effectively taught about God’s love in the way that they understand it…through media. We want to influence today’s culture through evangelism that speaks the same language and is best suited to the needs of the gospel.

I highly recommend visiting City on a Hill if you are looking for resources to use in a worship setting. My church community has greatly benefited from the powerful films that City on a Hill produces. The acting, costuming, set design, editing, lighting, and sound are Hollywood quality.
Visiting the website will give you a taste of the creativity that their staff infuses into each film. You can actually watch a sample of each film to see if the theme will enhance your service's theme. Currently five films are available, and a sixth one is set to release in late June 2005 at the North American Christian Convention in Lexington, KY.
City on a Hill's short films can be compared to the popular Nooma films. However, these films are more appropriate for a traditional worship setting and are intentionally designed to compliment and add another dimension to a sermon.
As a volunteer at a small church in north eastern Indiana where I attend college, I know it is difficult for many churches to find the resources and time to create visually stimulating elements in a worship service. It is City on a Hill's mission to assist churches by providing this element for them. Using the media in a church service is a powerful way to communicate the gospel message and enhance preaching to a culture that is media-driven.

I greatly appreciated seeing The Perfect Stranger. It was well done technically, and was smartly written. You could not always figure out what was going to be said next. I watched the film all the way through the credits and liked hearing the director make a comment about actually having something left over after the credits were over.
I am a professional photographer, and committed Christian, and and have always loved film and the stage and it was nice to hear someone say things that the same way I felt.
Keep up the good work.
