Robert Fritz
Robert Fritz is a colleague of Peter Senge. He developed the learning organization discipline of Personal Mastery, the discipline of constantly clarifying our true aspirations, and learning to see reality more clearly. He offers courses at his retreat in Vermont on Structural Thinking. Robert began his career teaching classical composition at the New England Conservatory. He is a painter, writer, composer and film maker who also consults with billion dollar corporations. "The work of Robert Fritz exhibits the hallmark of real genius: to take the most subtle and complex and make it clear, intuitive, and useful...Fritz is without a doubt one of the most original thinkers today on the creative process in business, the arts, science, and life in general. His work has deeply affected my life and the lives of many of my colleagues." Peter Senge

I have studied Robert's work since 2000. I've read that one of the characteristics of wise people is they see reality clearly. Robert's focus on seeing reality helps to create a contrast with our true aspirations. When you take an unflinching look at your own life, and then study the example Jesus sets, you will experience the contrast I am describing. It creates structural tension that can only be resolved by moving your reality closer to your aspiration, or, by lowering the goal. The practice of Personal Mastery has reshaped my life. I have committed to bring this work into the life of the church.
