Liturgical Eucharist Bluegrass Musical Setting That’s Adaptable
Kent Gustavson has written this musical setting called "Light Into the World." While written for bluegrass instruments, it can be played in many styles, including folk or contemporary in particular.
It is available on CD and on CD Rom with all musical parts, as well as the congregational bulletin. He also has a Vespers, called Mountain Vespers, also bluegrass, which is done weekly at the ELCA's Holden Village. In addition he has a new book of psalms settings.
Kent is also available to compose whatever a congregation is looking for. He will be getting his PhD in music composition May, 2007. Check these out at www.kentgustavson.com .
Kent’s mother also has a book you might be interested in. She is a pastoral counselor and professional poet. Her series of 6 poetry workbooks came out this year. One in the series is called Con-Versing With God: Poetry for Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Counseling. Soon to be available at local bookstores nationally, this series is available right now at her website www.cynthiagustavson.com and at www.bloomingtwigbooks.com .
