Tim Thompson

Tim is a Lutheran pastor who is gravitating towards the sweet spot at the intersection of Lutheran theology, postmodern culture, and the house church movement. He is chronicling that slow migration and his conversations around it in his blog The Feral Pastor, where you can read about his pastoral journey and his decision to move away from conventional church life for the sake of discipleship and mission.

Tim and his wife Kisten, also an ELCA pastor, live in New Brighton Minnesota with their two adopted Vietnamese daughters. He is currently serving as interim associate pastor at Gethsemane Lutheran. Tim holds an M.Div. from Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, as well as a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of California, Irvine. He enjoys playing guitar, reading about physics, and the occasional foray into videography.
