Sign the TLi Grant Petition, Support our Cause
Gregg Burch
As we move towards the launch of our Transforming Leaders Initiative pilot class in Ohio this October, it looks like we will enroll a class of 20 or more. Out of a pool of recommendations from proven leaders, applicants are coming from PA, NY, MI, as well as Ohio. Our first class will run from October 19-23, and will focus on cohort formation, relationship and team-building, peer coaching skills, personal visioning, and discipleship. Web-based learning events will commence prior to the gathering, and will be utilized between each of the three gatherings a year. We have support forming to launch regional classes in 2010-2011 in Lincoln/Omaha, Minneapolis, and Atlanta/Charlotte. Partnerships with ELCA churchwide agencies, Synods, pastors and lay leaders propel this grassroots initiative.
The Transforming Leaders Initiative is an outreach of TransformingChurch.org, the 501C-3 which manages TransformingChurch.com, our web community, and is launching the TLi. We submitted a $500K Grant request to Thrivent Financial, and have heard back that in these times the scale and duration of our request will be difficult to approve.
We are trying to demonstrate the broad, grassroots support of the TLi by asking our friends to sign our online petition and make a few kind comments in support of this initiative to help move the ELCA towards discipleship, renewal and mission. Find the petition here:
