2009 Transformantional Leaders Gathering Cancelled

After a very turbulent year for many of us on the leadership team, we have come to the conclusion that we will not be able to pull off a quality gathering this year. We know how many of you have prized the time and opportunities that the Transformational Leaders Gathering has offered for over ten years. However, to do it well at this late date simply will not work. With my transitions in ministry and now starting a new senior pastor position, I have been very limited and had planned to step back from leadership. With the responses we received from last year's attendees, we decided to follow the old adage if you can't do it well, don't do it.

However, we do hope to for a new leadership team in January to look at a renewed, relationally oriented Transformational Leaders Gathering. Since in the near future our web site here at TransformingChurch.com will be discontinued, Wired Jesus (www.wiredjesus.com) will be the place to check for news on a 2010 gathering. If you have ideas, expectations, hopes, or a desire to help, just let me know and I will pass the information on.

We do believe that a relationally oriented, peer to peer mentoring community that is networked electronically and that gathers in real time has a viable place in the ELCA in supporting creative leaders in the church. Our hope is that you do as well and can help us cast a new vision and a renewed start in 2010.
